Fundraising & payments integrations

Match giving history to the visitor who never filled out the form.

Fundraising platforms know who gave. They do not know who almost gave. Ballot Signal closes that loop: when a consented visitor reads your donate page and leaves, you get a supporter record; when that same person gives later, the donation webhook enriches the record instead of creating a duplicate. Match is on email, and we carry the platform's own identifiers through so your reconciliation stays clean.

Common field mapping

Supporter record ↔ donor record matched by lowercased email, enriched with the platform's contribution identifiers, recurring identifiers, and the fundraising page or form the gift came through.

Fundraising & payments: questions

Does Ballot Signal touch money or card data?

Never. We do not process, store, or transmit payment instruments. We consume the donation webhook the platform already emits — metadata only — and we never sit in the payment path.

Can you push data back into our fundraising platform?

Rarely, and we say so on each partner page. Most political fundraising APIs are export-oriented: they push contribution data out, and accept very little in. Where write-back is genuinely unavailable, the partner page says 'read-only' rather than implying a two-way sync.

How do you handle FEC-reportable fields?

When a federal committee's platform emits employer and occupation on the contribution payload, we carry those fields onto the supporter record untouched. We do not infer, guess, or enrich them from third-party sources.
